TREREIFE: These images are representative of a continued investigation into the relationship between the painted and the photographic image. With an interest in the 19th Century Romantic landscape painting of Caspar David Friedrich and WMJ Turner, the Northern European tradition of locating spirituality within the landscape, and referencing specifically the concept of the sublime, these images hope to hover in the space beween painting and photography.
WALKING TOUR OF THE ALPS: On August 17 1790 Jones and Wordsworth set out to cross the Alps.

To have a soulless image on the eye
Which had usurp'd upon a living thought
That never more could be."
